Put on your Walking Shoes

In October, Pierce's school participated in "National Walk to School Day".  I think his school did last year too, but we didn't have a good spot to walk from.  This year, a neighborhood down the road from his school hosted it since it is a straight shot to the school, with no hills!

Mama was really the one who needed to lace up her shoes tight...the kids walked one mile, but the parents walked two since we had to get back!

Another special treat that week was School Spirit Night at Gigi's Cupcakes!  Pierce was super excited for this after his baseball game.  It was too sweet when we were walking back to the car and he looked at me and said, "mom, this life is better than I ever imagined!".  I think he was just talking about the cupcakes, but it melted my heart just the same.

Tooth #2

A week or so after Pierce lost his front tooth, the second one came out.  It was pretty wiggly and he just pulled it out while he was watching tv!  Who knew that he would like pulling his teeth?!

GARTH!!!

Mallory has been a HUGE fan of Garth Brooks all her life! Her brother loves to laugh about when she was three years old running around the house singing the chorus to "Rodeo" and if you know the words, that's not exactly what you want your three year old saying. Regardless to say, when he announced this tour, she immediately got tickets for her and Foster.

He really did not want to go, so I swapped him my AU ticket that day for his Garth ticket and the girls took a road trip to ATL!  Of course, I had to drive so we got there really early.  Once we got in, we were hanging around the arena when we were approached by this guy.  He had already walked past us several times and I had just told Mallory not to make eye contact with him because he was creeping me out.  Well, he worked with the show and upgraded us to the FRONT ROW!!!

He put on an amazing concert!  Definitely, a once in a lifetime experience!!  I laughed because after the show, Mallory said her bucket list was complete!!!  I think we need to pick another concert now.

Weagle, Weagle...

This year we got to experience AU Homecoming a little differently! Pierce was excited to head off to school that morning in his "Auburn Fast" shirt and loves that they do Auburn cheers in P.E.

We headed downtown that evening for the parade in town.  I'm not sure he's ever been to very many parades, sadly they didn't throw much candy...but we did enjoy the fraternity/sorority floats.  And let's be honest, college students are always entertaining!

We were all excited to see the Flowers family and these boys were super pumped that they were dressed alike!

These "little cousins" are getting too big too fast.  They love gamedays though because they get to see each other and play!

Another big surprise was that Cindy came to visit!  I haven't seen her all year long, we've never gone that long without seeing each other.  Pierce was really sad the boys weren't with her and we were too!!

All Pro Dads

Pierce's school participates in All Pro Dads, which is a program focusing on dads and their children.  Once a month, they meet before school starts to have a quick breakfast and a short program.  The goal is for each child to feel the love of a father and to encourage those relationships.  This program was started by a professional athlete and is used all over the U.S.  I think both look forward to these mornings together!
