Last week, Mrs. Julie and Nicholas surprised Pierce at the door dressed like Batman and Spiderman! He thought it was great!!
To top if off, they cleaned out some old toys and brought a donation over! My child thought it was Christmas and has had the best time with his "new" toys. Pierce even thought it was more fun because they were Nicholas' toys!!!

A Letter!
Pierce loves to be my helper and help me get the mail and always wants to know if he got something. Well, last week he got this letter from Granddaddy!
I wish you could have seen his face, he got so excited as we read it. I'm not sure if he was more excited about the letter or the thought of banana peppers! Thanks for the fun surprise, Granddaddy!!!

Ice Cream!!!!
Thanks to Gigi and Poppa and our trip to the farm about a month ago, Pierce now declares that he loves ice cream! If you know my child, this is a big deal!!
However, he is a bit of an ice cream snob and only likes the specialty ones. We have been to the ice cream place near our house weekly over the last couple of weeks. I was thinking he wouldn't eat much of his cone on our first visit and the little stinker ate almost 90% of it...not much for mom! HA! So far, cookies and cream is the only one he will eat. Maybe he will expand his horizons before the summer is up!

"Daddy, you are the best!"
We had a low key, fun weekend at home to celebrate Father's Day. Lately, we've had lots of trips out of town so we stayed home for this one. Pierce and his daddy had lots of fun having boys time at the park that Saturday!
On Sunday, he jumped out of bed screaming "Happy Father's Day!" and telling M he was the best! Pierce had lots of fun giving him his gift, cards, and the special questionnaire about him. Including his idea to make this baseball cake for him since he loves baseball so much! He wanted me to make a Cubs cake, but I wasn't talented enough to take on that task!

After church, we headed out for lunch and Pierce was proud that his daddy wore the special tie he made him. He got lots of compliments too! We wrapped up the day with fun family time at the pool! We are very thankful for this great daddy and for the wonderful grandfathers we have too!!
11 Years!
A few weeks ago we celebrated our 11th anniversary! On our exact wedding day, we headed south to attend the wedding of someone that I held when he came home from the hospital and babysat. It made me feel old, but it was good to see so many faces I had not seen in years. And, it's always a fun night to get to dance with my dad!! We laughed on the way out of town because it was pouring rain which was exactly like our wedding day! I even found the picture in our wedding album of the groom, when he attended our wedding dancing with his (at the time) baby sister. My how things have changed!
Pierce opted out on the wedding when he realized he could go stay in Luverne with Grandmomma and Granddaddy by himself! I'm pretty sure he might have changed his mind if he knew that cake and lots of dancing would be involved. Thanks Grandmomma and Granddaddy for entertaining our little man while we were away!

Jones-ey!!
These sweet friends were super excited to see each other last week for a playdate! Jones and Pierce got to be big buddies at school this last year and were on the same soccer team. They had not seen each other in about a month and had a blast together!
Hopefully, we will get to play with Jones again soon! Super silly boys making super silly faces!!

We Love Mrs. Mary!
Mrs. Mary volunteered to keep Pierce a few days last week while I was at work. She took Pierce and her daughter, ER, to do lots of fun things. A trip to iJump, a picnic at Aldridge Gardens, another show at the library, lunch at McDonalds and Cafe Lazio, and lots and lots of playtime! ER even told Mary that she wanted to marry Pierce!! Thanks Mrs. Mary for so many super fun activities!!!

VBS Fun and the After Party!
VBS was a huge hit around our house this year! Pierce reports that he loved every part of it, from the songs to storytime to snacks. He loved the excitement of the theme for each day. Superhero day was probably the favorite for his age group. I think they even won the best dressed class that day!
He loved going to his class each morning to see Miss. Courtney and Miss. Rebecca!
And, of course, getting to see his buddy, Carter, each day!
The last day was "Wear Blue Day" in honor of the fundraiser for the week. The kids were super excited to hear that they reached their goal of raising $2500 for Neverthirst, which will build a well in India to provide clean water where none has been available. What a wonderful way to end our week!!
We still listen to the VBS music in the car, pretty much daily. It is amazing at how much a child his age takes in and remembers!
One of the most exciting parts of VBS were my workdays for Pierce. He got to hangout with all kinds of fun people. Thanks to all of our sweet friends that helped out and provided quality entertainment. He was pretty sad at the end of the week when he was stuck with his momma and not visiting somewhere else!

Summer Reading Kickoff!
We went to the library last week for the kickoff to summer reading to see Roger Day! Wow, I'm glad we got there almost 30 minutes early because if we had been any later there would not have been a seat. We ran into the Baker's on our way in, so Pierce and Kathryn went down front by the stage to dance around before the show started. They both came and sat with me most of the show and had a ball singing, dancing, and taking it all in!
Yes, they both squeezed in one seat together!
This was our first time to see Roger Day, we will definitely go back next year. So many fun songs!
We are also enjoying keeping up with our summer reading each night and Pierce can't wait to go cash in for some tickets for a prize!

Rylee's Big Day!
We helped Rylee celebrate her big day a few weeks ago to celebrate turning three! She had a fun circus themed party with lots of fun activities. Especially, the amazing balloon man! He literally could make anything the kids asked for...animals, characters, flowers, swords, cars. He was a hit!!
Happy Birthday, sweet Rylee! We enjoyed your yummy circus treats and morning of fun!

Our Swimmers!!
Last week, the boys finished up their swimming lessons. WOW, they have come so far!!! It was amazing to watch them this year. Last year, Pierce did a group lesson and would barely jump off the wall without the instructor holding his hand.
This year, neither one of them got upset and Pierce often volunteered to go first when it was time to jump. I also had to remind him to stay above water when it was Henry's turn out with the instructor. Henry swam a lot by himself and last year wouldn't get his hair wet or get off the stairs! We are so proud of these boys!!!
Daddy went with us to the pool over the weekend and couldn't believe that Pierce would jump in (where he couldn't reach, swim to him, then swim to the ladder by himself!) Can't wait to see these skills improve during the summer! Thanks, Miss Caroline, you were a great teacher!!!

Movie Day!
Last week, the Coulson's met us at the dollar movie to see The Lorax! Most of last week, I didn't have to work much so Pierce and I had lots of special activities each day.
The kids loved the movie, were on perfect behavior, and it was a great gloomy weather activity! Even sweet little Caroline made it through the movie! Silly Mrs. Julie and Nicholas jumped out at them when I took this and I couldn't get their attention!!

Way To Go, Jace!!
Pierce and I packed up and headed down recently to cheer on Cousin Jace as he graduated high school! We were so glad to get to help him celebrate this special time and I was happy that he had a very small class, the 33 minute ceremony was perfect for my four-year old!
Jace has had a hard last two years and has done well despite it. He has had to mature quicker than most his age and we are so proud of his accomplishments. We hope the next 6 months fly by quickly during his continued guard training so he can get back home and get started with college!
The remainder of our trip was pre-memorial day fun. One of our favorite places is Lake Jackson in town, we headed there on our last day for some fun in the sun! Looks like the beach, huh?!
Pierce did lots of "swimming", swinging, sliding, and his favorite...feeding the ducks! You can tell these crazy birds are always around people and are begging for food!
After lunch, my boy decided he needed some ice cream...which was funny if you know him because he really doesn't like it. Poppa treated him to a cone, he ate a big portion of it and decided he loved it! But, I think it's only the special Blue Bell cookies and cream variety!!!
