I Passed!

Pierce has been telling me for several weeks that he wanted to take the swim test at our YMCA.  I knew he could do it, it's not very hard, except that he had to tread water and I wasn't sure if he understood how to do it.  We gave it a shot recently and he passed with flying colors the first time.  He is proud to display his green armband now and not the red one!

D-A-D-D-Y

Daddy makes it pretty fun and exciting around here, Father's Day was no exception! Not only are these two similiar in most ways but Daddy is on the top of the list of favorite people too!

Pierce helped me make a chocolate chip pound cake for Father's Day and insisted that he mix and put everything in the bowl!

It cracked me up to walk in the living room and find them watching a baseball game like this!  Happy Father's Day to one great daddy!!!

Family Fun Night

On the Thursday night of VBS week was Family Fun Night. There were lots of storms that night so it put a damper on lots of fun plans outdoors. However, the kids did not know the difference and enjoyed jumping, sliding, playing games, eating Chick Fil A, and having fun with friends. They did get to sing one song for parents. (Pierce is behind the girl in the purple.)
It was great to see lots of families that do not go to our church!  During the chaos, Pierce and Carter went to visit the face painting table and somehow talked them into painting their entire faces.  They then referred to themselves as the green and blue ninjas.  Quite fitting for a church event, huh?!

Pierce gets to spend time with Reagan on Sundays and loves getting to know the big kids!

VBS....Round 2

The next week after being at Gigi and Poppa's was VBS at our church. You would think Pierce would be tired of VBS having them back to back but he wasn't. I think he was excited to spend time with lots of friends. We had another great VBS and it made it even more exciting with record breaking attendance of children!

I was in the Bible stories classroom again, Pierce loved checking out our room decor for the Everywhere Fun Fair!
With so many kids in attendance, many age groups had more than one class.  Pierce loved that almost half of his class were dayschool friends.  He had a fun week with friends and loved learning lots of new songs, Bible stories, games, snacks, daily themes, and scriptures.  I was amazed at how much he learned!

VBS...Round 1

A few weeks ago, Pierce headed south to visit Gigi and Poppa and attended VBS at their church for the week. It was a week in between regular school closing and his summer program starting so it worked out perfect! I knew he would be thrilled to go,even if he didn't know one person there. Gigi said he was a little timid the first night but quickly jumped in there and loved the week.

On the last night, I rushed out of town after work and was able to catch their closing assembly. Not all of the kids made it on stage but Pierce did. He's standing underneath the cross.
I heard all about what they did each day, listened to lots of songs, and we headed downstairs for ice cream before we left!
Pierce loved his time with Gigi and Poppa and I enjoyed a super quick visit to pick him up.  Of course, we had to hit the lake for a few minutes before we got on the road!

Thanks for a fun week, Gigi and Poppa!  This little boy was worn out on the way home.  Probably not the safest, but it was nice and quiet!

Rylee's Big Day

We got to help Rylee celebrate turning 4 a few weeks ago with a fun pirate themed party! Pierce thought it was pretty cool that a girl was having a pirate party like he did when he turned four. He loved making an ocean craft, jumping in the bouncer, finding buried treasure, walking on the plank, and of course eating cake!

And, lots of fun with friends ....like buddies Taylor and Henry.

Happy Birthday, Miss. Rylee!  I can't believe you are already four!!

OMHS Baseball Camp

Pierce recently attended his first sports camp, it was at OMHS for baseball camp. He was extremely excited and his daddy was pretty pumped about him going too! He wasn't timid at all about going and had a blast. He thought every single day was fantastic! I was a little surprised to hear, especially since it was pretty hot that week!
Ready for his first day!

This little team is ready!  SE, Pierce, Carter, and Jack

A big thanks to Coach Brian for a great week!!!
On the last day, they watered down the field and had sliding practice in the grass.  It was a HUGE hit!
As we left the last day, Pierce told kids he met that he would see them next year!  He's been talking a lot about baseball camp and what a fantastic week he had.  We are thankful he such a great experience and fun week!

Go Andrew!!!

Cousin Andrew's traveling team was in town recently for one of his tournaments so we headed over the to the ballpark to catch one of his games and cheer him on.  As you can see, Pierce dressed for the occasion!  He had lots of fun spending time with little sister Abby too (they are only 8 weeks apart).  Andrew's team lost that game, but the next day they won the entire tournament.  Way to go, Andrew!!!

Summer Reading

We hit the library a few weeks ago, loaded up on books, and got registered for the summer reading program!  It's one of our favorite places in town and I'm always excited that Pierce loves going too.  We are especially excited about the summer programming and hope to catch a show this week!  This year summer reading is exciting for me because Pierce reads most of the book independently.  So proud of our little reader!

Soccer Party

We finally got the end of the season soccer party in after lots of rescheduling due to rain! One of our parents works at the church at the Dayschool so we got to eat pizza, play in the air conditioning, and the receive the much anticipated trophies!

Coach Andrew gave each of the kids a serious pep talk!
Some pretty excited kiddos, minus Charlie Ann!  These friends loved having a little extra time together so close to their last day of school.

Last Day

Pierce's last day was a fun day with friends! They played most of the day, had pizza and popscicles outside, and ran and laughed a lot!
I found this from his first day at HDS and his last day.  What a difference!

Carter, Cooper and Jones

Hudson, Chase, John and Pierce

Being silly with his "girlfriends".
After school, we headed over to the park at Ross Bridge and met some friends there for a little more playtime together!

It was a great last day, of course, we had to cool off and celebrate on our way home with a trip to Whole Scoop for ice cream!!!

4K Water Day

The next to last school day was 4K water day!  These two were very excited!!  They had lots of fun jumping, splashing, and sliding with friends.  Along with an exciting picnic lunch outside!

Preschool Graduation

The day this mama was dreading...preschool graduation!  I was sad, but Pierce was super excited!  I can't believe his time at the Dayschool has come to an end.  The last three years at HDS have flown by!  We've made some wonderful, sweet friends these last three years.  I think I was most sad because most of the kids split off to different elementary schools.  Our time at HDS has been wonderful, the Dayschool will hold a special place in our heart!!
Entering and singing, "Jesus Loves the Little Children"...let the water works begin!

So very excited to have his own Bible!  We've read it lots at night, taken it in the car to read, and brought it to church lots already.

Sweet E and P

The original crew...Pierce, Carter, and Cooper
It was a very sweet graduation, along with a reception afterwards.  Each child had their artwork displayed, special treats, and goodies from the Dayschool!

The BEST 4K teachers - Mrs. Martha and Mrs. Carol!
Pierce also informed most of the staff at the end of the week that he would be back next year on the days he was out of school to be a helper. I hated to tell him that if his school was closed, the Dayschool probably would be too! We are going to have to work hard to keep up with all of our Dayschool families now. The countdown to Kindergarten is officially on and Pierce couldn't be more excited!!

End of Soccer Season

We had another fun soccer season, especially since our team was all Dayschool friends and families!  We got lots of rain toward the end of the season which made it hard to finish, but we finally got our games in.   I remembered to take the camera on our next to last game!
Water breaks and snack time!

I love this one of Carter and Pierce high-fiving each other when their team scored!

One of many pep-talks from Coach Andrew!
