February Fun

The month of February was full of fun things.  AU gymnastics is always an exciting winter activity...we ran into the Raughton's and finally beat Alabama!

We had a mother/son date night with a friend for AU basketball.  All of the daughters/dads were busy with dances and frilly dresses so we headed to cheer on the tigers.

Cousin Madison was in a performance of Honk, Jr at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery.  It was such a fun show and she did a great job!

The RA Pinebox Derby was also at church.  This was Pierce's second year to participate in this.  He was 2nd place and I think might have smokes Colt if he had a few more weights on his car!

We also had belt testing...this was by far the hardest one yet.  It was tough for him to break his board but he stayed with it and did it!  We are so proud of him!

Best Buds

Since we missed seeing The Coulson's on our last visit to Birmingham, we headed up to see them in February. It had been 5 months since the boys saw each other and they didn't skip a beat!

We also made it to church to see lots of loving faces.  Pierce loved catching up with the big kids!  HA!

Oh, how these quick trips remind us how we miss our friends.
Maggie also had her 11th birthday in January!  She's still a pretty spry gal, although it doesn't look it here.  I think she was bummed that she needed her hair cut.

Much Overdue Visit

Pierce and I took a little road trip to Birmingham for a much needed visit with friends. We tried to pack in seeing as many people as we could to our quick visit. Several friends I did not even get a picture of! We love the feeling of jumping back in and feeling like we haven't even left. Oh how it warms our heart for times with these!
The Bearden's always welcome us with open and loving arms!

I'm a little weirded out that these two are dating and find it hilarious that Pierce rushed downstairs and sat between them on the couch.  No adult supervision needed.  Pierce is on it!

Lots of fun and laughs with the pie in the face game!
Another fun visit was time with the Latham's.  We can't wait to visit them in their new home next time!

I felt like a was chauffeuring these two on a date.

We were so happy to have a quick visit with the Flowers crew as we headed out of town!  We miss them terribly.

AU Basketball

We have loved attending AU Basketball games again this year, but wish we had pulled out more wins. As you can see, we still enjoyed the games with a less than stellar season.
Pierce likes that now when we attend events, he usually sees a friend from either school, church or a neighbor.

Family, Food and Fun

Christmas Day always makes for a long day, but it fills our hearts with love and happiness. Yes, it's a crazy day since we wake up at home and have our Christmas that morning, pack up and drive to Luverne, have our family Christmas, then extended Christmas that night with more family. As crazy as it is, we are thankful and grateful that we can do it.

Poor Lily Grace was just done and over with all of it.

I'm pretty sure that these two were mesmerized with each other.

Sadly, I took no photos at all with all the little cousins at Aunt Martha's.  I guess we were too busy having fun!

Christmas Blessings

The Christmas season is always such a whirlwind of busyness. This year was no exception. In the midst of the craziness, we are so thankful for the blessings, family and friends we have. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
After attending the Christmas Eve service at church and going to dinner, I got a quick shot of Pierce and Maggie before tucking them into bed.
I love his sneaky one open, one eye closed approach on Christmas morning.

Maggie loved her new pheasant that she quickly demolished.

Reading the Christmas Story from the Bible before heading out of town, along with singing "Happy Birthday Jesus".  Love this little tradition.
