We are so lucky to get lots of hand-me-down clothes! This week, Pierce found this handed down monkey costume of cousin, Champan's. He has been wearing it around the house a lot, while it's near 100 degrees outside, and while it is too small. Guess we are getting geared up for halloween!!
I love capturing these little moments that I know otherwise we would forget. These pictures in the green chair also remind me of how fast he is growing. When he was a baby we used this chair as the monthly photo spot for months 1-12 and his head was barely above the armrest...now it touches the top of the back! I'm so thankful we get to spend so much time together and monkey around!!

A Day at the Splash Pad!
On Thursday, we hit the Splash Pad in Gardendale with friends Maury and Carter. It was lots of fun! I can't believe we had not been yet, we definitely need to go again since they will still be open a while. Maybe more friends can join us next time!
Conveniently, the ice cream truck seems to make regular stops. What a good marketing strategy on his part! It's not a big deal for me since Pierce isn't a big fan of ice cream...what kid doesn't like ice cream?!
This sweet thing barely made a peep the whole time!
It was a fun time spending time with friends, playing in the water, having a picnic, and playing on the huge playground! We can't wait to go back!!

"Mommy needs a princess party!"
My birthday was on Tuesday which means I'm another year older! Pierce gets so excited anytime we mention birthday, but did not understand why I didn't have a party. He kept saying I needed a princess party!
It was a fun day, we had lunch on my birthday with Gigi and Poppa then they treated us to Gigi's Cupcakes! Unfortunately, this was the only picture I got all day. Pierce was pretty excited to leave with Gigi and Poppa and spend the night with them so we could have a date night!

A Surprise and Family Fun
Last weekend we headed to Luverne to spend the weekend at Grandmomma and Granddaddy's house. I thought it was a little suspicious when M suggested that he take off work early to get down there. When we arrived at the Kilcrease's house for a visit upon our arrival, it was actually a small surprise birthday party for me. It was so much fun getting to spend most of the night with the Kilcrease and Watts Families! Hay-Hay always comes to the rescue and the kids were beyond THRILLED when she pulled out costumes. We had power rangers, superman, mario and luigi, batman, and a few others! Pierce would be beside himself if we lived nearby and could play with Tucker and Jon Harper all the time!
Granddaddy's newest toy...I think all the boys loved it, no matter what age!
Hay-Hay is so generous, she even sent us away Friday night with a superman costume (which Jon Harper made us promise would not come home with us!) and two books. Pierce memorized them both and would "read" them to himself!
It was a fun weekend with family, thanks for having us...maybe we can come visit again soon!
And, Pierce comes home (almost daily) with an absurd amount of sand in his shoes! He loves playground time, especially in the sandbox. I keep telling him to empty his shoes but apparently this stays in there all day. It's almost a whole teaspoon full in each shoe!! At least he's having fun though, right?!?!

Laundry Man
For quite a while now, Pierce has loved helping with the laundry. Especially loading the washer and dryer, but putting up the clothes...not so much. One of his favorite parts now is getting the hot clothes out of the dryer, putting them in the chair, and covering up with them. He put them all in the chair the other day, then he disappered. I found him inside the dryer, when I asked him what he was doing he said, "Mommy, close the door!". Sorry son, I can't close the dryer door with you inside, DHR will lock your momma up for sure!

Just Monkeying Around...
We headed to the zoo last week to monkey around! It was a great day to go, not too hot and a small crowd. We had not been in a while so Pierce had lots of fun finding all the animals!
I would say the highlights for Pierce were playing in the new childrens area (which we stopped at multiple times), the carousel, and the splash pad!
He loved the animal cutouts too, would spot one, run to it and say, "look at me, I'm a giraffe!".
I'm pretty sure he asked at least 200 times when we could go ride the carousel! I saved it for a treat at the end of our visit, but little did I know how long it and the splash pad would entertain him!!

First Day & A Yummy Treat!
Pierce enjoyed his first day back at his old school and his first week. As always, we were running late so this was the only picture I got. It's fun each afternoon to hear about his day and his friends. So far, he's kept all of his stars (this is what they use for behavior) and he's gotten a prize out of the treasure box. I'll be interested to see how long he keeps it up!We also made some special brownies after his first day. He loves to help me and we were all excited to eat the yummy treat!

Barons Game
It's pretty sad that we live so close to the stadium and that it is close to the end of the season and we just went to our first Barons game this year. We had a fun night last night with the Reed's at the ballpark. We were all shocked that the kids made it through the entire game!
Poor Riley, she looks scared to death of Pierce right here!
Pierce did lots of dancing throughout the entire game since lots of music was played. His highlight of the night though were fireworks at the end along with a superheros highlight on the big screen!
When we left, he told us that he was going to play ball there one day when he was bigger. I'm sure his daddy would love that since he LOVES baseball. I bet he's just hoping that he loves the game as much as him one day!

We love Gigi!
I bet you thought I was talking about my mom, Gigi! Well, while we do love our Gigi, we also love Gigi's Cupcakes! It opened up in town recently and we've already visited a couple of times. I have a feeling Pierce thinks that his Gigi makes the cupcakes!
We came home with these little treasures on our first trip! The one with the yellow star was the one Pierce picked out (the Texas chocolate cupcake), guess it was in honor of his Texas cousins!
YUM!!! I think we are in trouble since he now recognizes the store when we go near it. Can't wait to see what special little gem we will find on our next visit!

"I BEAT DADDY!!!!"
Pierce and his daddy had a game night one night last week. He chose an ABC board game and was SUPER excited to report to me that, "I BEAT DADDY!!!!". He also told me that he needed a trophy! I have no idea where he came up with the idea that he needed a trophy. I do suspect that since my sister and her husband own a trophy store, one will arrive in the mail soon. I'm sure M will love that reminder!
My new school or old school?
Pierce asks pretty much everyday, if not multiple times a day, which school he is going to that day. Since the school that he goes to during the regular year is closed during the summer, he attends another one during the summer. The last few weeks he's been really excited since I told him he will be going back to his old school soon!
He had water day at his "new school" a few weeks ago and of course loved it. We loved him telling us that night about all of the water fun with his new friends!
We also attended "Meet the Teacher" a few days ago at his old school to meet his teacher for this year. I think only one friend will be in his class from last year, so he will make lots of new friends this year! Right now, he's excited about this year with Mrs. Glenda...I hope he continues to be excited!!
