Road Warriors

To celebrate the last day of 2011, one of the dads coordinated a ride playdate for the kids. Lots of them got new bikes for Christmas and there was no place better for them to all ride freely than the Met parking lot!
Pierce had some fun "boys time" with his daddy, trying out his new bike, and sharing his gator with friends!
Taylor's mom took this one, I think it's funny that Taylor is driving with his eyes closed...good thing Pierce is wearing his helmet!

A Rare Visit

On our way back home from Luverne, we stopped for a visit with the Watts before we left town. Brooks,Ainsley and Pierce had lots of fun playing together and we enjoyed visiting with old friends!

Sweet faces...

Silly faces...

I can tell these three would have lots of fun together!  Too bad we only see these sweet friends a few times a year!

More Family Christmas

After church on Christmas morning, we packed up and headed down south to celebrate with the McDougald's. First we opened gifts with Grandmomma, Granddaddy, Uncle Mike, Aunt Mallory and their families. Once again, Pierce loved playing Santa handing out gifts and of course, helping almost every person open theirs!

That night we headed over to Aunt Martha's for our extended family Christmas celebration.  Complete with a yummy meal, lots of cousin time, and much craziness while we all exchanged gifts.  Too bad I didn't get a pic of all the kids!

Pierce and his daddy decided to break out the Wii and play some games on our last day.  I'm not sure which one had more fun!
It was a fun trip, minus the trip to Troy for an allergic reaction for Pierce. We are thankful for Cousin Kris, since she is a nurse practitioner!   Luckily, he got over it within 48 hours.

Once again, receiving more than we should....one blessing after another!

Christmas Morning

Surprisingly, our early riser waited until about 6:20 to wake us up. HE CAME! HE CAME!! Oh, the excitement of Christmas morning and waiting to look by the tree....

My favorite part of Christmas is by far experiencing it through the eyes of a child.  Every small part is so exciting.  These were the big gifts that he specifically asked Santa for on each visit!

He totally forgot about stockings with the excitement of his gifts.  He asked for new socks and chocolate "gold da bloons (sp?)" (pirate treasure from one of his favorite shows).  We even had to pack some chocolates to share with cousins later in the day!

My favorite part of the morning was by far going to church that morning.  What a special way to celebrate the birth of Christ!  The service was very kid friendly and included a childrens time up front with the Christmas Story read to all the children.  Pierce has never been in "big church" at our church since they have childcare, but he loved going down front and didn't think twice about leaving us and walking by himself.

I love these pictures with some of his buddies.  Grace loves Pierce, and I love how tight they are squeezing each other!  So much love!!

"Joy to the World, the Lord has come..."

Prep Work

I reminded Pierce after Gigi and Poppa left on Christmas Eve that we needed to make our cookies for Santa.  We decided he would like these break and bake cookies the best!  He quickly informed me that we didn't have anything for the reindeer and needed to make their treat so they would know where to stop!

For some reason, Pierce always thinks that he needs to put the treat for the reindeer on the sidewalk rather than the grass. He's afraid that it might get lost in the grass and the reindeer wouldn't know where to stop!

One last pic before heading off to bed, ready to dream of Santa and listen for the jingle of his sleigh...

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve, Gigi and Poppa came over for our small family celebration (unfortunately, I didn't take very many pictures and none with them!). We enjoyed a yummy meal and exchanged gifts. Pierce loved playing Santa and giving out gifts!

We definitely missed celebrating this year with my sister and her family.  We hope to visit soon!!  However, we did enjoy opening up their gifts while Gigi and Poppa were here.  I would dare say the favorite gift of the day was the remote car from Gigi and Poppa...I'm pretty sure his daddy may have enjoyed it more!

We also had our annual "Happy Birthday Jesus" cake to celebrate the real reason for the season!  Despite all the gifts, Pierce has learned what Christmas is really about and it warms my heart.

Krebs Breakfast

Pierce looks forward every year to the pancake breakfast at Daddy's office for the kids. I think he really likes that Mommy is not invited and it's just the boys!
He loves any type of character, this creepy snowman was no exception. Each year he excitingly tells me about seeing Frosty, as if it was the first!
