Popsicles with the Principal

We headed to SSC several weeks ago to meet the new principal and have "Popsicles with the Principal".  Pierce usually is not a big fan of popsicles but was happy to discover fudge pops!

Book Boy

As I was getting ready for work a few weeks ago and we were getting ready to head out the door, I found Pierce reading books instead of playing or watching tv.  He even packed a few in the car for our commute and read ALL of them to himself.  It made this mama proud!!

The Good with The Bad

After I picked Pierce up at school one day, I surprised him with a trip to one of his favorite places, McWane!  He had a full day playing at school, then an afternoon at McWane.  It was fun day with my little guy!
Not long after we got home he fell asleep on the couch.  I thought, WOW, I finally found something that makes him tired!  I finally woke him up and not long after that he threw up on the couch, floor, and me...several times.  I'm thankful he's not sick like that very often, it was a pitiful sight!

Space, Rockets, and Cousin Fun

A few weeks ago we headed up to Huntsville to visit the Space and Rocket Center. Pierce loved checking out all the things about space, especielly since he did a space unit at school last year and learned about the planets.

Some of the museum was boring for him, but he loved the hands on activities.  Apparently, he learned more while he was there than we thought and was telling us facts about space for days!

An extra highlight of this trip was getting to visit with our Huntsville cousins we don't get to see much before we headed home.  The kids enjoyed playtime, dinner, and ice cream before we hit the road!

"The Ice Cream Truck!!!"

Throughout the year the ice cream truck drives up and down our street.  Normally, Pierce doesn't care too much about it.  We were home one afternoon and he about killed himself to get down the stairs and get a cold treat!
He picked an ironman treat, although, I'm sure he was wishing he had gotten something with chocolate!

Wednesday Playdates

Most Wednesdays, Pierce got to carpool with his buddy, K, after school this summer. The best part for these two meant playdates after school! One day I took them to the library to see a show and they were super excited!
It's also been fun to get to know this new friend, especially since they will be at the same elementary school.  Pierce is excited to know his buddy will be there too!

Swim Lessons

Shades Cliff had swim lessons for members again in July. Pierce was able to do them and did great! It's amazing at how good of a swimmer he has become between last summer and this summer. Pierce and Carter were in the same skill level group (along with other friends). Teachers, Julianne and Christian, were not quick to split them up but quickly realized they had trouble paying attention together!
