White Sox Party

Pierce's team, the White Sox, made it to the playoffs for the 6 year old teams. To add to the excitement, they celebrated with their end of the season party!

Pool Kick-off

At the very end of April, we got to kick off the start of pool season with a warm day swimming at the Y! After such a cold winter, we loved some warmer days.  Luckily, the Y pool is nice and warm since the bubble had just been removed so we could enjoy it even more!
We also ran into our bus stop buddies from the down the street so the boys had lots of fun time in the pool!
Pierce had to make sure he still remembered how to float!  ;)

Family Fun Fair

The biggest fundraiser of the year at SSC is the Family Fun Fair. Pierce and his classmates counted down for weeks until the big day! They loved the carnival rides, inflatables, train ride, face painting, cake walk, and dancing with the Hoover Cheerleaders!

On Chick Patrol

The Kindergarten Hall received their big delivery of chick eggs in April.  It was a great and exciting lesson as each classroom had their own incubator (or "incuvator" as Pierce called it).  They learned about the whole process of them growing, hatching, along with lots of random facts...a few of which my child taught me!  The most exciting part was having a webcam on the incubator so we could watch at home.  The first one hatched at school so they got to watch it together and they all sang, "Happy Birthday" to their first baby chick!  We watched more hatch from home and I even had to text Mrs. Miles one day as I had been eagerly watching one get ready to hatch all day and at the last second the camera got moved!!

He is Risen!

Early Easter morning basket surprises!

Sitting with his friend, SEB, at church!

In the midst of starting to pack, it was another quiet Easter with just the three of us.  Normally, we have a special meal with other friends that have family out of town.  This year, we ate at home with a non-traditional grilled steak for lunch that M made.  It was still delicious!

We are so thankful to be able to go to church and worship with others the true meaning of Easter.  It's also a blessing knowing that Pierce is learning the true reason for Easter and not that you just dye eggs, get candy, and see the Easter Bunny.

Trying a boiled egg!

Egg Hunt

Yes, I'm just now posting from Easter and hope to catch up soon. This moving stuff pushed me way behind!

Thanks to sweet Mrs. Mary, I think this was the only egg hunt that we did this year!  She invited us and some other friends over too for a fun afternoon/evening of playing, egg hunts, and pizza.  Pierce did not find the "golden egg" but he did get lots of treats in most of his eggs!

Classic, silly picture of these two.  It's hard to get one of them not acting crazy anymore!  Sadly, this was the best one.

Yellow Belt!!!

Pierce got to test for his yellow belt in April and he did it!!! He was very nervous but did great.  I love watching his little class and each one of them.
One of Pierce's classmates, who also happens to live down the street, come over for a special playdate too.  Ryan is such a sweet boy and they become such good friends.  Can you tell that Pierce picked out his play clothes after karate?!
