Swim Lessons

We did several swim lessons with Benjamin toward the end of summer. He is a college student that lives here, so he came to our pool which was very convenient. Pierce loved seeing him! They started working on proper strokes, breathing, and timing. It's a lot to think about at one time!

One pool day, Pierce decided to take a break with me from swimming and hopped up in my chair too.  I think this makes for some really bad tan lines, but a sweet time I wouldn't trade for anything!

New and Old Friends

Pierce got to help his new friend, Clay, celebrate his 6th birthday with a superhero party. Clay is actually in first grade this year too at his school, but his grandmother was our neighbor for a long time in Hoover. It was fun to get to visit with Mrs. Linda and see her in Auburn instead of Birmingham!
Pierce and Cooper (one of Clay's cousins that Pierce knows better).  Pierce got to spend time with Clay and Cooper at VBS here this summer and at SCBC.  Fun new and old friends!

Pierce got invited to meet his new buddy, Rankin, at the movies to see the Planes movie several weeks ago.  He loved that he got to stay by himself without me, and I loved a little free time to myself!  ;)

Golfing

Pierce and his daddy both got new sets of golf clubs (first set for Pierce).  He was so very excited!  He insisted on going outside one morning to practice a little before breakfast!

Special Visitors

In July, we had some extra special visitors! Sally came to visit and brought the kids, spent the night and was gone in less than 24 hours...minus Carter.  It did my heart good to see my sweet friend, even though it was a short visit. Carter got to stay for a few days so we packed in lots of playtime and pool time, and lots of other fun stuff I have forgotten about by now!

Ice cream treats at Marble Slab!

Dayschool playdate with Jones too since he is here now!  Nobody had time for a picture.

Carter's most coveted and exciting part of the trip was going to BWW to eat.  He begged and begged and reminded Pierce the whole day that they needed to be good so they could go!

We took Carter back on Saturday and got to help our buddy, Chase, celebrate his 6th birthday while we were in town.  Another sweet Dayschool friend!!  What a fun week of celebrating so many fun friendships!

Annual 4th on the Farm

Our annual trip to the farm to visit Gigi and Poppa was a little different this year since our Texas family wasn't there. We still had fun playing outside, swimming, eating lots of food, and visiting with family.

Pool time with Dad is always really fun!

We also took a jeep ride to Luverne one day to see the other side of the family!  Pierce said, "this is AWESOME!!".

Pierce loved snuggles before bed with Gigi, tv and reading time too.  And, Gigi was his pick for putting him to bed every night!

Sweet Summertime

I have loved summertime with this guy! One big positive about our recent move is that I haven't worked this summer which means we have been able to spend our days together.
Never a dull moment during our daily lunchdates!

Movie date!  Complete with a big drink and popcorn, of course!

New Beginnings

We met new friends one night at Chick Fil A for dinner and to play. They also had a local art place there so the kids got to paint canvas magnets. Pierce loved it!
He also attended VBS at the church we have been visiting here.  He begged to go, even though he didn't know many kids there.  On the last day, we met some friends for laser tag and lunch.  Mama played too and I was exhausted! he also got his second stripe on his belt that week too!

A group of some VBS kids singing at the early service that Sunday morning.  Pierce is on the middle row, far right.
