Woo Hoo for the Zoo!
This morning we decided on a last minute trip to the zoo and met Carter, Maury and Henry. It was such a great day to go and more animals were out than the last time we were there. Afterwards, we enjoyed a picnic lunch before heading home. My favorite part of the day was that Pierce napped for 2 HOURS this afternoon!! You may be thinking, well big deal, but a nap this long RARELY happens....WOO HOO!!!
Maury and Henry being sweet while they were checking out the giraffes.

Forecast: Warm & Sunny!
The weather has been great here these last few days! Tonight, we grilled out and ate outside too. Pierce has become a picky eater lately, but cleaned his plate tonight. Maybe we will try eating outside again soon!
We also met some friends at the park yesterday and had a picnic. The kids had a lot of fun, especially since this park has a kiddie area just for these little ones. Us mamas really like that it's fenced in too!
Last Saturday we helped our friend Olivia celebrate her 2nd birthday! It was a cool day but the kids didn't seem to mind, especially since cake was involved!!
Happy Birthday Olivia!

Easter Weekend
We have had a lot of fun this Easter weekend. Yesterday, we helped Lily celebrate her 2nd birthday! It was cool outside but the kids had a lot of fun playing and didn't seem to mind.
Here's the birthday girl, sorry I didn't get a better pic of you Lily!
All of the kids loved the bouncer, several of them bounced out of the sides (no worries, we were there to catch them!)

And of course, hunting eggs!
The Easter Bunny brought Pierce a PBK chair. He loved it! Now, thanks to Grandmama and the hand-me-down chair (that was Pierce's great-grandfather's)she gave us at our last visit, we can have one upstairs and downstairs.
Here are some shots before and after church. This outfit is extra special, Pierce's Grandmama made it for his daddy when he was a little boy and handed it down to us for Pierce to wear. So sweet! We had some professional pics done last month, when we get them I'll do a post of each of them wearing it.

This year we stayed home and spent Easter Day as a family of 3. There was a lot of family that we missed seeing, but had a great day together. I will say it was nice to not be traveling! We also remembered those in our family that aren't with us anymore and the sacrifices that they made, just as our Lord has done for us. Thank you Lord for our many blessings!!

Hoppin' Down the Bunny Trail...
Yesterday we met some friends to go see the Easter Bunny. I just knew there was no way in the world that Pierce would go for that. To prepare myself, I thought it would go something like this:

Much to my surprise, it went like this(forgive me, this is a picture of a picture, our scanner isn't working):

We were hoping to get a group shot of the kids, 5 total, but there was no way since some of the others were not showing love for Mr. Easter Bunny. For some reason Pierce seems to like giant, stuffed animals. Maybe his Sunday School teachers should dress up so he'll like staying with them better.

Fun with Friends!
We have had a lot of fun the last few weeks getting to play with friends. The weather is finally getting better around here and we are enjoying getting out more.
A playdate at Henry's house while he was out for Spring Break:

We also met twins, Reese and Harper, at the zoo this past week. The zoo itself actually wasn't too exciting, most of the animals must have been hiding and a lot of them were napping. Pierce did enjoy staring at the girls and trying to figure out why they look so much alike!

Staring at one of the goats at the petting zoo.

We also had lunch with Carter yesterday and helped him celebrate his birthday. I think he enjoyed his cake!

Maury showed Pierce what hunting eggs is all about. We thought he needed to figure it all out before our Egg Hunt tomorrow. He figured it out but it super slow...I'm sure there will be lots of kids getting to the eggs before him. We may come home with an empty basket!

Earning His Keep!
Apparently, Pierce decided that his mama needed some help around the house last week. Since it's an ordeal taking the trash out and lugging Pierce down the stairs, I had it ready to go. My plan was to take it out during naptime. I guess he thought he would be my little helper! Thanks for looking out for me buddy!!
