What a Difference a Year Makes!
Last week was Pierce's annual review for speech. He is doing so well that he no longer qualifies for services! While this makes us very happy that he is doing so well, it's also a little sad that we won't be seeing these sweet people that have been such a big part of our life for the last year. We will miss you, Ms. Sa-wee and Ms. Ashwee (Ms. Sally and Ms. Ashley)!

The best slogan ever!
Last week my sweet friend Lauren and Baby Brooks came for a visit and brought me this for my birthday!
It was such a yummy surprise!!! They were from Dreamcakes and stamped on top of the box was, "Cupcakes make people happy!". So true! We were all very happy and excited to eat them and every time we ate one Pierce would insist on singing the Happy Birthday song to me. Pierce also like that the one with the banana on top was called the Curious George cupcake. Thanks Lauren, you are the best!!
Jumping, Running, Sliding & Dancing....
...these are just a few of the things we did at free play at Parties on the Move last week! What a great indoor playdate, there were a total of four kids playing there and three were with us. I'm so glad that they changed the free play hours other than during naptime. We met friends Maury and Carter to play and the kids had a blast!

Happy Birthday, Mommy!
Yesterday, was my birthday and Pierce loved singing me the birthday song all by himself! He was even more excited to help me blow out some candles! I love that my sweet nephew called me yesterday morning to tell me happy birthday and asked me what kind of cake I was having. He, of course, thought I needed a football cake!
After Pierce and I got home late yesterday afternoon, he asked to watch one of his movies and told me he wanted to take it to his room and watch it with "Char-ee". So he put Charlie (his stuffed dog) on his bed, pulled back the covers, and watched Little Einsteins with him. So cute!

Trying to Stay Cool at the Zoo
We knew our trip to the zoo would not be a cool one, but we did find several things to do there to help keep us cool! Like riding the train, playing at the splash pad, and sliding! The funniest part of the day (not at the time), was being attacked (not really, but it felt like it), by the birds. There was no one at the zoo yesterday, so I guess the birds got use to the big crowds during the summer and having lots of people to feed them. When we went in the exhibit, one landed on Pierce's shoulder and about 5 were on me and another one was pecking at my foot!

Meet the Teacher & First Day!
Last week we had "Meet the Teacher" at Pierce's new school for the fall. He ran right in his room and was excited about all the new things he found. He really liked this reading nook and lounged almost the entire time we were there in this chair!
I know he is going to have a great time in 2K this year with Mrs. Lora. He even gave her a hug before we left. Pierce was also excited to find his spot at the table and see that his friend, Carter, will be right beside him. We will see if that lasts all year!

Mr. Potato Head!
The summer heat is miserable here, so we headed to McWane this morning to stay cool! And, to top it off the Mr. Potato Head exhibit has been there and Pierce loved it. The crowd was not bad at all so we were able to walk around a lot and he even tried out some of the older science exhibits that we don't normally see.
His favorite was by far this safari jeep, he called it "Daddy's work truck"...complete with the safari hat which I'm sure was very clean and sanitary!
