Swimming Lessons

So, for weeks we've been talking up swimming lessons which started yesterday...or as Pierce calls it, "swim school". Last summer he was timid in the water and stuck to us like a leach.  He's been so excited he even got on the carpet the other night imitating to his dad how he was going to swim. He gave me a big thumbs up on our way in and wouldn't even stop talking!
He was checking out the pool while we waited on the instructors and couldn't wait to go in,  there were TONS of kids too.  Several group classes go on at the same time.  Parents were welcome to stay poolside, but I decided he would do best if I was nowhere in sight.  So, I watched from the window instead.  I only saw him scream once, so I considered it a success!

He was even happy at the end of class, so at least I don't have to drag him in next time. He said, "Mommy, I'm a good swimmer!" I hope that's the case by the end of the class!

Easter Day

We had a busy, but fun Easter this year. It started out trying to rush out of the house for church, but not without attempting a few pictures. This never goes well. This little boy does not like to be still for the camera!
This is how he feels about Easter pictures!

Adding a fresh flower to the cross at church.

The only attempt of a family picture, Pierce kept turning around and looking behind us.  Such a cooperative little boy!

The Coulson's came over after church and ate lunch with us.  After our yummy meal we headed outside for one last egg hunt.  I belive this was #5 and the final one for the last week.  They were really excited but Maury and Carter kept opening their eggs and would throw them back down if there weren't treats in them.  Pierce didn't care, it just helped him get more eggs in his basket!

We missed our families on Easter but are thankful for sweet friends to spend these special times with!

Hippity Hoppity...the Easter Bunny is on his way!

We put out special treats for the Easter Bunny last night and had an exciting morning seeing what he left! Pierce made sure that we did not eat this "carrot" that they made at school and saved it to put out.

The Easter Bunny left Pierce some much needed PJ's along with a few other goodies.  Can you tell that super heros are a favorite around here?

Birthday Fun & Outdoor Dining

We have had a fun Easter weekend, Saturday started off with a birthday party for sweet Olivia. Pierce and friends helped her celebrate her 4th birthday, complete with another egg hunt, Easter Bunny visit, crafts, a jump house, and yummy cake!

We also grilled out for dinner last night and ate on the deck!
Ever wonder why we are rarely in pictures with Pierce and why I can't get any decent pictures? Well, here is why. 1. He is in a terrible picture taking phase.  2.  It is impossible to get him to look at the camera.  3.  If he does, it looks like this.  4.  Most often, he won't even stand still.  Any tips???

Water Fun!

We have loved the much warmer weather and took advantage of it on Friday by celebrating Good Friday outside!  Our day started off playing with friends at the park and having a picnic lunch. After a nap, Pierce was really excited to put on a swimsuit and play in the water!  Granted it was a lot of old baby water toys, but he didn't care one bit!

"I wike da Easter Bunny...he's nice!"

This is what Pierce said after we saw him with friends this week. Of course, I talked him up a lot before our visit! He was the first of his friends, he walked right up to him and sat down. With each set of friends after us, it gradually went downhill and totally fell apart with the Patterson's...particularly Grace. I'm lucky I've only got one in situations like this!

We had a very eventful day, after naps we went over to Kate's house for another egg hunt!  Yes, that is #3 so far this week.  There were lots of kids and lots of eggs!!

Eggs!

Pierce was excited for quite a while for us to dye our eggs this year.  Especially, since I got us a Toy Story kit!  And, it was even more exciting when we opened the kit and realized it was 3D, complete with glasses!  He was a big helper putting in the tablets, watching the colors change, and decorating our eggs with Toy Story.  He just doesn't understand why he can't keep them in his room and play with them like the plastic ones!

His 2K classes also had their egg hunt at school on Wednesday. He was VERY excited about taking a basket to school along with some stuffed eggs to hunt. Pierce couldn't wait to get home and check out the loot in his eggs!
