Swim Day with Friends

Last week, James invited us and other friends over to his grandparent's house for a pool day!  It was a great day!  The big news from this day was that Pierce started jumping off the diving board by himself.  Of course, he had his life jacket on but he wanted me to catch him.  I swam down to the deep end and held my hands out twice, then he started jumping in without me and swimming to the side.  Maybe next year he will be able to do it without his jacket!  Still a big improvement from the beginning of the summer.
Grace loves to layout and lounge with her lovey!

The kids had a ball playing tag, chase, superheros, and whatever else they could think of!

I'm pretty sure every kid there had to get in the baby float and several of them with multiple flotation devices!

Silly boys...Henry and James!

Best Buddies

After I picked up Pierce at school on Monday, we went to Carter's and picked him up. These boys are hilarious together and were so sweet playing the other day. They even had on matching shirts!
They both crawled up in the chair together, talked, played with their toys, and laughed. So precious!!

Preschool Swim Party

Sunday we attended a kids swim party at the Fresh Air Farm with our church. We really could not have asked for better weather (felt like cooler football weather)! There was plenty to do from the big water slide, small pools, big play set with swings and slides, and a picnic style meal.
Jackson and Pierce love playing together...I'm pretty sure they were being some type of superheros.  At least, they usually are!

It was a perfect afternoon for the kids to play and the adults to socialize a little. Pierce did not want to leave!

Summertime Fun at the Water Park

We hit the water park again this week to help us stay cool! Pierce enjoys is much more this year. He will go down the kiddie slides my himself, "swim" in the little kid area, and now likes the lazy river and "beach pool" as he calls it (wave pool).
His favorite way to go down the slide!

Hoping we get lots more summer fun in at the water park!  It makes for a tiring day for us both!!

Entertainment on a Steamy Summer Day!

It's been SO, SO hot this summer! Finding ways to entertain (especially outside) is almost impossible. Last Saturday, Pierce helped his friend, James, celebrate his 4th birthday. There was plenty of entertainment for the kids including a water slide, small pools, water table, bounce house, playset in the backyard, tons of riding toys, lunch, and cupcakes!

Pierce and Daniel enjoyed some playtime on the swingset.  Wonder what these two were discussing?

Pierce also decided he needed to gas up James' motorcycle for him!
Birthday boy, James!

Happy Birthday, James! Thanks for letting us help you celebrate!!

Beach Bums for the 4th

Instead of spending this year at the 4th like normal, Gigi and Poppa treated us to some time at the beach! We think this is the first time that my parents, my sister and I have all been at the beach together since 1992 or something crazy like that. This was really the boys first big beach trip too. Pierce went as a baby, but our trip last year got cancelled. When we went to the beach he said, "look at all the white snow!"

Dug a hole for Poppa and covered him with sand!
This was one of the many dance-offs that the boys entertained us with.  Chapman is probably the most entertaining and funniest dancer I have ever seen!

Playing at the playground on the beach after dinner at the Crab Trap!
Yummy yogurt at 32 degrees!

The boys played dominoes...or thought they were.  These are a VERY old set that I use to play with my grandparents when I was younger.

Pierce loves his Poppa (& Gigi too)!
Little Sullivan has the sweetest smile and laugh!

The boys spent LOTS of time at the pool.  Chapman swam for 6 hrs one day!!  Pierce loved it too, but isn't quite the swimmer Chapman is yet.

Last year, Chapman would hardly get his toes wet on the stairs.  This year, he was diving down to the bottom for toys!
While we usually have a very good fireworks show at the farm (people stop on the side of the road to watch, and they are usually better than the ones most towns put on) the ones on the beach were amazing!  Pierce was the only one of the kids that stayed up past 9:00 to go see them.  He loved them and so did we!!
Thanks again Gigi and Poppa for some fun family time at the beach! Maybe we can do it again in 20 years! :)

VBS Week

Since we were out of town a few weeks ago when VBS was held at our church, Pierce was really excited to attend the one at his school!  Friends, Maury and Carter, joined him too.  The kids loved carpooling together a few days and learned so much.  They had hat day and silly hair day (although Pierce decided not to participate in silly hair day).

On the last day, they had a performance for parents that night. Carter and Pierce put on quite a performance and I think they liked being front and center! It is amazing how quickly they learned 3 songs...we are still singing and dancing to them!
