M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E...Our Trip to Disney!!!

We had our much anticipated trip to Disney World last week! A magical time was had by all!! I'm hoping to make a post about each day to document our trip, so there will be many more to come. And, I'm sure more pictures than many of you care to see!

Our trip started last weekend with a stop in Luverne, and then Florala to visit our parents (and knock off a few hours on our drive!). We headed down to see the Mouse himself on Sunday. Pierce did great in the car other than the "how much longer, dad?" every 5-10 minutes!

Upon arrival to our resort, we all received beads before we made it inside the building, since we stayed at the New Orleans themed resort.  And, during check in Pierce was given a balloon sword.  Things were already looking up for Pierce and we had not even done anything yet!
After settling into our room, which by the way, we discovered this is the first time Pierce has stayed in a hotel too!  He said, "why is it so small in here?  Where are we supposed to eat?"  I think because there was no kitchen.  I know on some big trips we've had he hasn't been with us, so I guess it was his first for that too!

Then, we headed off for a boat ride to Downtown Disney!  Dinner at the T-Rex Restaurant, along with checking out the lego store, a show, making fun potato heads, watching people dance, along with other fun things Downtown Disney has to offer!

After a hot night of walking around, no nap in the car, and another boatride back, we were all tired and ready to get rested up for our first big day at the parks!!!

Season Kickoff!

Yesterday was the season kickoff for college football, and wow, that makes for some excited people in the south! To add to the excitement, we had some sweet friends that had a kickoff party in celebration! I would dare say the highlight for the kids was this huge bouncy for entertainment!

Sadly, I did not take many pictures (I know...again). We did enjoy watching the game with friends, even though it did not end in a win for our team! And, we are in the south so there was PLENTY to eat, along with fun times for the kids! Especially when my little tiger fan got to dress up as Captain America!

Summer Pool Party

We also attended a summer cookout and pool party last week with lots of friends from church. There was a big group of kiddos there but I never really got my camera out, so this is all I've got. Pierce thought it was fun to see so many friends at the pool, especially the ones that are not memebers there that we usually don't get to see.
Picnic meals are always a hit!  These boys are in the same class and always have fun together.  I think Sweet Caroline may take after her big brother, she was talking the whole time I tried to take her picture!

Pre-Season Tailgate Party

Last weekend, our old neighbors invited us over to help celebrate the upcoming kick-off to football season! It was a fun night with lots of yummy tailgate good, games outside for the kids, and friends to socialize with!
Henry and Pierce got in a serious game, I think Pierce got tired while Henry was teaching him a few fundamentals!
Sweet Grant, he's always smiling!  I think he loved the access to so much yummy food and snacks within his reach!!
And, Henry tackled him!  Maybe Pierce's new shoes don't make him quite as fast as he thought....Ha!!

The Countdown is On!!!

We have officially started our countdown to Disney now that it's not months and months away! Pierce loves putting Mickey ears on the calendar each day to see how much closer we are getting!
Last week, we got a fun package in the mail too to help us get excited about our upcoming trip!  There were lots of goodies in it for our first timer and he can't wait.  Watch out Mickey and friends, we will be looking for you soon!

"Pretty Cool!"

Pierce reported week one of 4K as being "pretty cool"! He loved getting into his new class routine, seeing friends, and getting extra classes he didn't have last year (like P.E. and Spanish). He was super excited to come home from his first day to find some mail for him from Gigi!
And, I would dare say the highlight of last week for Pierce and Carter was having Carter over twice last week for playdates!  These two boys talk non stop, and when I say non stop, I mean NON STOP!!!

Hi Ho, Hi Ho...It's off to 4K I go!

This is the week that Pierce became one of the "big kids" at school! He was so, so excited to pack up his bag and head to 4K!

The most exciting part for me was hearing all about his day each afternoon this week! I'm wondering how long this excitement will last, I hope for a while. We talk about his new and old friends, classroom centers and activities, and the special activities out of his room. One of his favorites was Spanish class and learning, "adios"!

I can't believe this time next year he will be heading off to Kindergarten at the big school!!!
