Happy Easter!

Easter morning came and while Pierce was excited to see if anything was put in his basket, we were all excited to head to church to worship our Risen Savior!
Note to self:  next time you should take photos before church, and especially before lunch (hence the stain on Pierce's shirt).  We missed our family photo in front of the cross at SCBC and had to get creative with taking photos and home alone.

Since we were in Auburn and it was such nice weather, we decided to make it to the baseball game too.  I also think this may have been my first Auburn Baseball game...ever.  How is that possible?!?!

Pierce: "mom, what an awesome day!  It's God's special day and I got to see Aubie too!"
We also were unaware that there was an egg hunt for kids after the game.  Of course, totally unprepared with a basket or anything to put them in.  Pierce ran straight out underneath the scoreboard and looked for the golden eggs.  He scored two of them and filled up his glove with a few others too!

Happy Birthday, Carter!

Easter weekend was a super crazy time. That Saturday was Carter's 7th birthday, so of course we had to make a quick day trip to Birmingham to help him celebrate! Our morning started with dying our Easter eggs, Pierce opted out on our neighborhood activities which included seeing the Easter Bunny and egg hunt. It makes me a little sad that he's growing out of all of these things, but at the same time, I'm glad he understands the true reason we celebrate Easter.
These boys were super duper excited for Carter's paintball party!  Carter had no idea we were coming until we showed up.  Love these boys!

Watching them play was hilarious!!  They really had no idea what to do and in the end, started hurting each other because they would stand too close.  Every time one of them came out crying, I was laughing.  Mom of the year right here.

We also made a surprise visit to see Vaughn while we were in town.  These buddies had a big time!

We loved celebrating with you, Carter...you boys are getting too big, too fast!!!

Go #11!!!

Baseball kicked off recently and Pierce was excited to be on the White Sox team again. Which is kind of funny since that was the last team we played on in Hoover. Spring is always a great time to get out and watch baseball! Another perk of a college town is no weekend games or practices!

After being in Birmingham, Mrs. Amy sent us back with an old waffle maker they had and Pierce has LOVED making waffles at home!!  I was even up super early one morning making them before we walked out for the bus at 6:45!  Really Mrs. Amy, you shouldn't have.

My Dates

We finished up our Spring Break week with some special dates. Pierce counted down the days for "Home" to come out, so we headed to the movies to celebrate the last day of Spring Break with a movie date.
One of our sweet Hoover families had a wedding, so we went to Birmingham to help them celebrate.  It was a beautiful wedding and great time with some special friends.

Pierce was so excited to see Nicholas there too and that they both had on bow ties!  I was a little surprised that Pierce wore one too.  First time ever....getting too big.

Spring Break Getaway

We had a fun family getaway for a few days during our Spring Break. Our first stop was Atlanta to the College Football Hall of Fame. It was very entertaining, with lots of laughs!

This part was hilarious and the video was even funnier!

The next day, we headed to Chattanooga for a few days.  The first stop was the Aquarium!

We made several trips to the Moon Pie store for mid day snacking while walking around.  Pierce LOVED this diner for breakfast and went there both mornings.  He definitely ate a lot!

On the Duck Tour, which he wasn't super excited about, he got to drive while we were in the water...which made it way cooler!

Apparently, he decided this is a good tourist pose, he did it a lot.
I also should have taken a photo of him.  Pierce took lots of pictures of scenery with the camera and had it around his neck a lot.  He took several of me and insisted on taking this one of us on the bridge to Coolidge Park.

Our last destination was to Ruby Falls!

A swim in the indoor pool was pretty fun too, especially when your daddy gets in and throws you around like a cannonball.

Secret Spring Break

Our TX cousins had Spring Break the week before we did, so they spent their week at the farm. Pierce didn't know they were coming, so when we headed down for a long weekend he had no idea they would be there. What a fun surprise!
Love these big smiles when we pulled up after attending a wedding!

Poppa had his hands full with these helpers.  They actually helped him work outside all morning!

It was so fun to see some other little cousins that were in town at church.  Silly faces since the sun was in their eyes and apparently not wanting to sit too close to the girls.

We decided to skip school on Monday to spend a little extra time together, since Pierce and Chapman missed baseball practices M tried to get one in!

We loved our time with the boys and can't wait to see them again soon!!!

Jr Adventure Challenge

The Coulson's recently made a day trip down to visit so that the big kids could do the Jr. Adventure Challenge here.  It was a gorgeous day with lots of fun stuff for the kids.  They jump roped, sack raced, jumped tires, climbed haybales and a rock wall, went down the slip n slide, got hosed off by the firetruck, and some other messy events.  It was kinda chaotic, but the kids seemed to have fun!

Before the race

And after...they didn't get nearly as yucky as I thought they would.

On Sunday, we met the Latham family for lunch!  It was so fun to see these sweet friends for a super fun weekend.  Thankful for these visits!!
