Back to School Countdown

August started which meant school was right around the corner. Our neighborhood hosted a back to school bash at the pool with a cookout, jumpy, swimming, and a movie. I failed at taking pics, so it looks like Pierce and Grayson had the pool to themselves. It was nice to actually know people there this year, unlike last year!
Our sweet neighbors, The Doyle's, also hosted a family play night just before school started back.  There was a lot of football being played, along with making their own hotdogs and smores themselves!

These soon to be 2nd graders had fun!

Toothless

Just before school started, Pierce lost his front two teeth within a week of each other. I loved his new toothless grin! I wish it would stay like that!  He decided to write a note to the toothfairy after the last one came out, which was #4 I believe.

Summer Days

Our summer seemed to go by very quickly, so we tried to pack in a lot before school started back.  After our back to school eye drs appt (hence the funny looking sunglasses), we had a treat at the pop factory then headed to the Opelika Farmers Market.

Pierce decided we needed some fresh squash for dinner!
Our adult SS class had a lake day for families, we loved this lazy lake day with new friends!

Pierce also attended golf camp at AUC.  He was excited to learn a little more and go where the Auburn University students play too!

Mexico Beach 2015

We had a special guest with us for our family beach trip this summer, Carter!  We finally found a time that worked for both of our schedules for him to join us.  Pierce doesn't always think it's fair that he's an only child, but this time it worked to his advantage to have a friend tag along!  We love how Carter joins in like he's part of our family and never skips a beat.  Such precious memories for these sweet buddies that rarely see each other now.

Mexico Beach doesn't have all of the fun things to offer like some of the bigger beaches, but they didn't seem to mind at all.

This was on our kayaking day, it's our favorite day at the beach.  Maybe I'll find those pictures to add soon.  Indian Pass is our one must eat place on our trip!

This was our last day, M and I were literally drenched from head to toe since the waves were much stronger so we would take the boys out and jump the waves past where they could reach.  The literally played and made things for at least 7 hours and still didn't want to leave.  I could sit and watch this view all day!

Mom's Lake Day

Mandi hosted a few mom's and their kids for a Mom's Lake Day in July. We miss all of the fun things to do in Birmingham so we've really enjoyed being able to go to the lake.  The kids loved kayaking and swimming.  The mama's loved a little time in the sun!

Summer Games 2015

Throughout the summer, our neighbor sponsored "Treasure of a Mother's Heart" once a week.  It was an opportunity for just mom's and one child to spend quality time together.  Lucky for Pierce, since he's an only he got to go to all of the events with me rather than me picking and choosing which child to take.  The final night was "Summer Games".  We did sack races, water balloon races, dizzy bats, and other fun stuff.  These three groups won, so our kids got to pie us in the face as winners.  Mine got me real good.

Family for the 4th

Since my sister and her family could make it for the 4th this year, we swapped and headed to Luverne instead.  Pierce loved nighttime swimming with daddy and graddaddy!  And, of course, time with Max and Madison.  They had a serious game of uno while we were there.

And of course, lots of snuggle time with Lily Grace!!!  Pierce is still a baby hog and loves to hold her.  I'm pretty sure that M held her for the first time too.

Then, we headed back to Auburn to cookout with the Flowers family and watched fireworks in town. They were pretty good but we missed our fireworks at the farm!
