Sunday night we went bowling with the college group from church. Pierce loved hanging out with the big kids! He needed some help but did really well hanging in there with them. He loved giving them high fives for strikes or spares (I think he even got one of his own!).
Pierce saw a few of his favorite college kids too, that he doesn't get to see very often. He loved telling Hal he needed to try harder and do a better job! Ha ha!!

To The Batcave!!!
Saturday morning we attended a Batman kids event at the library. Friends, Grant and Henry, joined us! They had lots of activities for the kids...making masks, bracelets, capes, several games, yummy snacks, and of course, lots of characters dressed up!
Grant was not so sure about all of it, but these other two LOVED it!!
Pierce keeps asking when we can go back to the library to see Batman and all his friends!

Rare Cousin Time!!!
One of the most exciting times Pierce has had was having Cousin Chapman come stay with us for 5 days!!! This was the first time that Chapman has stayed here (in Alabama) without his parents and he did great being so far from home. I'm pretty sure this little Texas boy was glad to get back home!
We were very busy while he was with us! We logged in lots of pool time, playing outside, a trip to the library, art time, a movie, yummy food, and the boys went to hike at Red Mountain. Chapman said hiking was his favorite activity!
About half way done, not looking very energized!!
Oh, they even held concerts and would go upstairs to "practice" their number before the big performance!
And, I found this one of them from the farm...probably the last time they both fit on there together.

Chapman was super excited to pack up and fly home last week! After he and Gigi left for the airport, Pierce disappeared for a minute...I found him in the dining room with huge tears in his eyes because Chapman left. It broke my heart that he was so sad and doesn't understand why we can't see him more. A few days later Pierce said, "You know what I prayed to God? That he would bring Chapman back to play with me." I would say Pierce loved his rare cousin time, it makes our time together that much more special!
More Swim Lessons!
Recently, we had another week full of swimming lessons. Our pool offers free lessons for members, so we got extra lessons this summer! As a bonus, lots of Pierce's friends were there too along with some of his favorite lifeguards as teachers!
They expanded on more skills during this week, such as swimming across the pool, learning how to tread water (which is also needed to pass the swim test), diving, various types of floating and more. Pierce has really come a long way in swimming this year!
This past week, he has mastered his skill more at getting things off of the bottom. Sometimes, picking up two things at a time!

Reunited and It Feels So Good!
Last week we headed down south for our annual, 4th on the Farm, trip! Pierce loved our countdown to cousin time (especially since it had been a whole year!) Can you tell these two had fun together?!?!
Sullivan is such a little cheeser, and thought he was as big as the other two!
We had a low key week with lots of playtime, pool time, plenty of good food (including watermelon), and even a sibling date night while Gigi and Poppa kept the kids! Of course, the boys loved riding the gator, four-wheeler, tractor, and some special trips to the airport for some treats from Mr. Sam!
Sadly, I didn't take many picture and this is the only one I got of the cousins. Shame on me! We even failed to dress them up and take some together, maybe next time!
They boys were very much little swimming fish this year! Chapman learned how to jump off the board and get rings from the 8 foot deep end. Pierce's trick was jumping off the board and swimming the length of the pool to the shallow end my himself!
Even his daddy decided he needed to try some tricks too!
Thanks to Aunt Mary for the glow sticks during fireworks. They were a hit!

Preschool Water Party
A few weeks ago, our church sponsored their annual summer preschool water party! The kids had lots of fun on the huge water slide (surprisingly, no one got really hurt!), lots of swinging and sliding at the Fresh Air Farm, and even a picnic dinner!
