Spring Break Getaway

We had a fun family getaway for a few days during our Spring Break. Our first stop was Atlanta to the College Football Hall of Fame. It was very entertaining, with lots of laughs!

This part was hilarious and the video was even funnier!

The next day, we headed to Chattanooga for a few days.  The first stop was the Aquarium!

We made several trips to the Moon Pie store for mid day snacking while walking around.  Pierce LOVED this diner for breakfast and went there both mornings.  He definitely ate a lot!

On the Duck Tour, which he wasn't super excited about, he got to drive while we were in the water...which made it way cooler!

Apparently, he decided this is a good tourist pose, he did it a lot.

I also should have taken a photo of him.  Pierce took lots of pictures of scenery with the camera and had it around his neck a lot.  He took several of me and insisted on taking this one of us on the bridge to Coolidge Park.

Our last destination was to Ruby Falls!

A swim in the indoor pool was pretty fun too, especially when your daddy gets in and throws you around like a cannonball.

Secret Spring Break

Our TX cousins had Spring Break the week before we did, so they spent their week at the farm. Pierce didn't know they were coming, so when we headed down for a long weekend he had no idea they would be there. What a fun surprise!

Poppa had his hands full with these helpers.  They actually helped him work outside all morning!

It was so fun to see some other little cousins that were in town at church.  Silly faces since the sun was in their eyes and apparently not wanting to sit too close to the girls.

We decided to skip school on Monday to spend a little extra time together, since Pierce and Chapman missed baseball practices M tried to get one in!

We loved our time with the boys and can't wait to see them again soon!!!

Jr Adventure Challenge

The Coulson's recently made a day trip down to visit so that the big kids could do the Jr. Adventure Challenge here.  It was a gorgeous day with lots of fun stuff for the kids.  They jump roped, sack raced, jumped tires, climbed haybales and a rock wall, went down the slip n slide, got hosed off by the firetruck, and some other messy events.  It was kinda chaotic, but the kids seemed to have fun!

On Sunday, we met the Latham family for lunch!  It was so fun to see these sweet friends for a super fun weekend.  Thankful for these visits!!

"I Can Read With My Eyes Shut"

Kids all over celebrated Dr. Seuss and his birthday several weeks ago. Pierce's school had a week long celebration for Red Ribbon Week with lots of fun activities. Special class readers came in to read, so he picked "I Can Read with My Eyes Shut" from our collection at home and I was one of the guest readers in his class.  They got to wear PJ's that day, bring a blanket, and lots of books.  They read almost the whole day, which Pierce claims is a perfect day at school!

For Career Day, he chose to dress as a football coach...complete with lots of plays, but we opted out on sending him to school with a whistle!

On Twin Day, he and Grayson dressed alike.  Being an only child, you never get to dress up with a sibling so he was excited to pretend like he had one for the day.

For Book Character Day, he dressed up like Captain Awesome!  He has loved this series of books for quite a while...although most of his friends thought he was Capt. America.  Ha!

Fun Friday Nights

We have enjoyed attending several gymnastics meets this year with some neighbors.  They are pretty fun and very entertaining!  The kids love all the music...and dance breaks when one plays that they like.  It's been great way to support Auburn on these cold, rainy days!

Pierce got a sports book at his school book fair and tried to stump his daddy on trivia one night.  Good luck with that buddy, it's pretty hard to do!

Baskets, Belts and Visitors Too!

A few weeks ago, Pierce had a day full of  events.  First up, his last basketball game.  We have had such a fun season cheering on #10 and the OKC Thunder!

Pierce also had a very special cheering section for his last game!  He was so excited he finally made his first basket during the game.

 

Shortly after basketball, we headed to AAMA for belt testing.  Pierce passed and was promoted to purple belt.  We are so proud of his accomplishment and hard work!

Practicing our spelling words each week has started to get a little boring, so we pulled out the shaving cream for some messy spelling word fun!
