Homeless in Hoover

At the end of May, we were officially homeless in Hoover so our sweet friends, The Couch's, offered to let us live with them. It was actually just Pierce and I, while his daddy was holding the fort down in Auburn.  We tried to enjoy his last week of school (although we were both super sad!), I finished up work, then we stayed again for a few weeks of baseball camp.

Pierce did not forget that I promised him about 6 months ago that we could eat at IHOP at the end of school!

We got in lots of pool time, trampoline time, and gaming time with the Couch kids.  Live-in babysitters are the absolute best!!!

We also hit Whole Scoop to celebrate the end of school!

Pierce also crashed Allie's end of school party with her girlfriends!  I did manage to keep him inside for at least an hour....somehow.

He did invite himself to eat dinner with them.  Ha, ha!!

Choir Night

In May, we enjoyed more performances from the preschool and children's departments at church. I absolutely love watching the little ones and hearing those sweet little voices. It's puts a smile on my face a few tears in my eye every time!

As with many things lately, it was another bittersweet time knowing it was the last time Pierce would sing with these sweet friends.  A lot of them in the same class since babies!

When one door closes, another opens...

Last month, we closed the door to our house at 5012 Knoll View Circle for the last time. It's been a very bittersweet time for us, but we are hopeful that the new family there, having two young boys will continue to create many great memories! 

These walls held lots of love and laughter!

 



These doors have seen us as a couple to bringing home our sweet baby boy. 

We chased Pierce up and down these stairs more times than I would like to recall, he would eagerly wait for Santa's arrival, the Easter Bunny, and the landing was Maggie's favorite perch to watch outside.

Now, we have a new place to call home.  I already know we've been blessed by some great neighbors because Pierce can't wait to head outside to play with them everyday.  I'm sure it will quickly feel like home and we will create many wonderful memories here.  Our doors are open and we can't wait to have visits from friends and family!



We do think that Auburn sunsets are very pretty!  I love always having kids playing in my yard.



A few new things already are nightly walks as a family (including the dog), sometimes feeding ducks at the lake, and lots, lots more time outdoors!

Farm Friends

The kindergarten end of year production was adorable! So many cute little sheep, chicks, pigs, and cows!!  The music teacher was in charge of it, and obviously, worked very hard with the kids.  I was on the verge of crying during the entire thing!  Partly because hearing sweet little kid voices singing always gets me, and knowing that this was our last big thing with all these sweet friends!

A Day at the Farm

Pierce's last class field trip of the year was to Old Baker Farm. I was planning on going too, but it got changed and got moved to a day that I couldn't go.  Luckily, another sweet mom from his class sent me a few pics!

He really enjoyed this field trip, especially since they just completed their unit at school with the baby chicks.  They got to see all kinds of animals, go on a hayride, have a fun picnic, maybe do a maze, and other fun things I have forgotten about!

Championship Game

Much to our surprise, the White Sox made it to the championship game!  Pierce really enjoyed this season, made several new friends, and made a few good plays that he was excited about!  We played the Braves for the final game and only lost by one point.

Our team received medals after the game.

Both teams got to celebrate after the game with silly string and water gun fights!

Neither wanted to stop for a photo...we played Grayson, a buddy from school, in the final game.

We were excited to get to have another season with buddies, George and Michael, from our team last season.  They may be small but they are really quick!

Cheering Section

During one of the play off games, Pierce had a special cheering section.  The Rawson's surprised us by showing up, and also Mrs. Julie!  He was so proud to see them in the stands cheering for him.  Mrs. Julie had to leave early so we didn't get a photo op with her too!
